“We loved the Tufted Jay Preserve” My wife and I recently went on the two day Birding Sierra Madre tour, and greatly enjoyed our experience. The tour was as described to us with efficient transportation, personable guides and beautiful landscapes. We were able to see the Tufted Jays almost immediately upon arrival, and saw a second group later the same day. We also ended up seeing many other typical bird species of this ecosystem, and enjoyed the solitude of the mountains and sweeping vistas on our hikes. Our lodging at the cabins was rustic but adequate, and more than compensated by the solitude of this remote area. The food we enjoyed on this tour was plentiful and tasty, and the unexpected highlight were the two delicious home-cooked meals we enjoyed in the home of our local guide Don Santos.
